Pollen and March

Hi everyone!

Currently, I have been fighting a sinus infection. March has been filled with studying alongside sniffles and recovering... just to get sick again. I haven't had much time this month to focus on volunteering, so I only volunteered once at the Trinity Center this month. I went on a Friday, so there's no homework to be done, just playing with the kids! I talked about anime and video games with a few of the children and then I watched the kids play flag football. It was a lot of fun seeing the children I hadn't seen in a while.

As I said in the previous post for February, I was going to look for other volunteering opportunities but this allergy season has been killing me. My car was covered in pollen, and I think I brought the outside pollen to my bed somehow, getting me sick again. The school has been pleasantly flexible with me considering I have been sick all month. 

In terms of what I will do to fulfill my volunteering for the next month, I will be asking my friends that regularly volunteer if I can join them. I will also invite my friends to join me in volunteering as well. I plan on doing the Food Bank in Baton Rouge, as there is more availability there than in NOLA and I can invite my family to come as well. I think that's the fun in volunteering - bringing the community together. I hope that bringing my local community together can inspire others to do the same.
